No, there whould not be any connection between your membership/activities with CODAA. In fact, if you think there has been, let Mike Murphy, COD president, or Howard Owens, HR director at COD, know.

Murphy told the CODAA officers in a meeting a year ago, that we would not be hurt for membership in our association, or for our activities; he also stated that he wanted us to assure our membership of that. As you know, part of our issues is the fact that there is no grievance structure. I do not know what your dean, or associate dean's decision rests upon.

Owens, in Feb. of this year, told us that members in CODAA are part of a 'protected concerted activity'. I would say, contact one of those two gentlemen to find out more about your specific case. Since we are not formally recognized, we cannot ask about other specific individuals--only ourselves individually--the way it has always been.
